Expression of Interest (EOI) for End to End Service – Spudding, Complete Well Drilling and Production testing including well activation, stimulation and Reservoir studies in wells of Vindhyan Basin, ONGC.
ONGC is the national Oil and Gas Company of India engaged in exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbon from different sedimentary basins spread over the country. One of the frontier areas of exploration is the Proterozoic Vindhyan Basin, where a significant gas discovery from ultra-tight reservoirs has recently been established by ONGC in Hatta area, belonging to the Son Valley sector of Vindhyan Basin, located in Damoh District of Madhya Pradesh.
Two exploratory wells are planned for drilling to appraise the Hatta discovery and conclusively assess the gas flow potential for early monetization of the gas discovery. Based on the results of the appraisal wells, more appraisal / development wells may follow. Being a Proterozoic basin, the gas bearing reservoirs of Vindhyan Basin are unusually hard and compact. The reservoirs have permeability in the range of 0.01 to 0.5 mD, and relatively higher value of 3.2 mD is in fractured samples. As matrix porosity is 2-3% only, naturally fractured zones of the reservoirs are envisaged to contribute the major part of gas flow from these wells.
Twenty wells have been drilled so far in Son Valley sector of Vindhyan Basin, of which a number of wells proved to be gas bearing. Most of the wells indicated hydrostatic to sub-hydrostatic pressure and sub-commercial gas flow rates during initial production testing. Hydrofrac/ acid frac were recently made in few wells and results are under analysis. The discovery well Hatta#2 is the only well which exhibited significantly high formation pressure and flowed more than 50,000 m3 /day of gas without any stimulation during initial production testing.
Frontier Basin, ONGC invites “parties to prequalify” for “End to End Service” from spudding, complete drilling upto the target depth of the well including Logging services & cementing services and production testing job including well activation, well stimulation and reservoir studies in wells in Vindhyan Basin, Damoh District, Madhya Pradesh on turn-key basis, which include activities like, mobilization of rig equipments / accessories and consumables items along with the personnel to take up the complete Drilling & Production Testing job and demobilization of the rig. Drilling of the well include Air Hammer Drilling technology (UBD) in surface (17½”) & intermediate section (12 ¼”) up to ~1100m & Rotary Drilling from 1100m to ~1900m and final phase (8 ½”) with Rotary / Turbine drilling with MWD from 1900m to ~2500m. The section/target depths may vary by +/- 10-20% at the discretion of ONGC on technical grounds. ONGC envisages a pressure regime of hydrostatic + 60-70% in the wells based on the data of offset well Hatta#2. ONGC recently acquired new acreages under OALP rounds in Vindhyan Basin and extensive exploratory activities are planned.
ONGC though initially plans one well on pilot project basis, based on the results of the pilot well, the services may be extended on call out basis for a period of 2 years as and when required to execute the jobs as per SOW published.
Interested participants having the required capability and possessing relevant experience and eligibility criteria may respond to this EOI and should submit supporting documents in respect of eligibility criteria within 15 days from publication of EOI to Head Drilling Services – Frontier Basin, 4th Floor, Wing A, BS Negi Bhavan, Tel Bhavan, ONGC, Dehradun, Email:- dhir_naresh@ongc.co.in.
Note: Interested participants to note that there will be no further extensions under any circumstances since the project has to be rolled out on fast track basis. In case of any query, 1.
