Notice Inviting Expression Of Interest

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. KG-PG Basin & Cauvery Basin CMDA tower-I, Gandhi Irwin road Egmore, Chennai - 600008

EOI/REF NO: ONGC/ EOI/KG-PG And Cauvery / Technicalconsultation

Invitation of Expression of Interest (EOI) for identification of suitable partners / service providers to partner / technically assist in specific E&P portfolios in Krishna Godavari and Cauvery Basins, India

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), a premier National Oil Company having “Maharatna” status under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt. of India.

Scope of Work The service provider will technically assist / offer consultation to KG-PG Basin & Cauvery basin in ONGC Southern Sector office premises. A suitable working space shall be provided. The studies have to be carried out in collaboration with ONGC G&G Teams with emphasis on knowledge transfer from the service provider and skill development of ONGC Geoscientists. The portfolios in which assistance is required as follows:

Deep-water exploration & production: In Krishna Godavari Basin, ONGC operates a deep/ultra-deep water block where Pliocene slope channel play a fairly well established play with significant discovered oil and gas volumes. For this play ONGC has already embarked upon a cluster based development/exploratory approach. The block currently has three clusters viz. Cluster-I, Cluster-II and Cluster-III. Cluster I & II are contiguous and development activities are underway in them. Cluster-III, in ultra-Deep waters, is currently under appraisal. This block operates under the New Exploration License Policy fiscal regime. (Salient features of NELP are enclosed at Annexure-I) Area of Interest 2393 skm Wells in AOI 51 2D data in AOI 3039 lkm 3D data in AOI 2393 skm In the adjoining Cauvery offshore Basin, currently ONGC holds an ultradeep water block and we are planning to further consolidate this portfolio. Existing block operates under HELP regime and all future blocks, if acquired, would be under this fiscal regime only. (Salient features of HELP/OALP are enclosed at Annexure-II) Area of Interest 4064 skm Wells in AOI 9 2D data in AOI 1000 lkm 3D data in AOI 3924 skm

High Pressure – High Temperature tight reservoir play exploration & production: Early Cretaceous Synrift play in Krishna Godavari onland and contiguous offshore basin and in large parts of Cauvery basin is a high potential but technically challenging play. In Krishna Godavari & Cauvery basins more than 300 MMtOE inplace oil and gas is already established in this play. The play, however, is invariably in high pressure high temperature realms and drilling, stimulation and production therein is a technological challenge. Notwithstanding the challenges, considering the huge potential, ONGC is already moving forward to put at least one field each in onland and shallow offshore on production within next two years. The resource is also high on Govt. of India priority list and a few special incentives are granted for the production from HPHT/tight/unconventional reservoirs. (E&P Status of HT-HP are enclosed at Annexure-III) Area of Interest 300 skm Wells in AOI 40 2D data in AOI 1168 lkm 3D data in AOI 300 skm

Unexplored Basins: Another challenging opportunity that awaits unveiling include some category- III basins. Cudappah, one of these basins, in close vicinity of Krishna Godavari basin did not get adequate attention in the past perhaps due to difficult exploration investment sourcing and tough logistics and availability of easier/better opportunities. These basins have proven high calorific value active thermogenic dry gas systems as revealed by surface data and surveys. Area of Interest 5267skm 2D data in AOI 958 lkm 2. Expected expertise domains for joi
