November 5, 2026: Vedanta Oil and Gas has entered a partnership agreement with Exceed, a UK-based well management specialist, for an exploration and appraisal campaign in the Krishna-Godavari Basin, according to Splash247. The Kent-owned company will supply integrated support for drilling operations in Vedanta's KG-DWHP-2017/1 deepwater block, which holds four existing gas discoveries along with several further exploration prospects.
The agreement spans subsurface evaluation, well planning, drilling preparation and operational management, with a multiwell drilling campaign expected to start in early 2027. The block lies off India's east coast and covers prospects in water depths of 600 to 2,000 m. Vedanta is also assessing the Vermilion prospect, which it considers capable of opening a new exploration play within the acreage. The company has merged and reprocessed roughly 3,800 sq km of 3D seismic data to sharpen subsurface imaging and has completed a controlled-source electromagnetic survey with EMGS, a Norwegian geophysical specialist.
